The Journal
“Journal writing gives us insights into who we are, who we were, and who we can become.”
In hindsight, I wish I would have been more consistent in my journaling. A friend once told me how she began making short notations of each day in the 1”x1” boxes of a spiral calendar in her pre-teens. She is still making her notations and is now in her sixties.
Most of my journaling has been done in a reflective mode. My self observations began in my twenties when I started writing in a little book I found in China Town. Prior to that all that dialogue was in my head. In my teens I spent many a sunset in the midst of reconstruction on the penthouse level of the Princess Kaiulani Hotel over looking Waikiki Beach and the Pacific ocean. By 5:00 all the workers were gone and I had the whole level and glorious view to myself. I wish now I had written down my thoughts at that young age. What I have found over the past years, is that the words are an intimate insight to the heart and soul. I’m going to continue in that vain for what I will write here. Much of which will be musings about what surrounds and touches me.
The journal will be released as a post in the Journal Category. And it goes without saying that I would love and encourage your responses and thoughts.
